The inviter’s device must verify your invitation request.

Invite verification keeps groups secure

When you accept an invite to join a convo, Convos pings the device that invited you (behind the scenes) to verify the validity of your invite link and officially add you to the convo. You can only see and send messages after you’re verified and officially added.

This process keeps groups super secure by making sure only intended invitees are able to join.

It’s almost always instant

Usually this happens fast, within milliseconds.

But sometimes it can be slow or delayed, like if the person who invited you is flying across the ocean without internet access.

While you wait

You'll see the Convo appear in your app immediately, but it’ll remain empty — and you cannot see or participate — until your invitation is verified.

Unverified invitations expire in 24 hours

In the rare circumstance that an invitation cannot be verified within 24 hours, it expires, and the convo disappears from the app.

If this happens, please contact the person who invited you for a new invite link.
